Are You Ready for your Newborn Baby?
Get ready, there are lots of choices ahead! This is the fun part! Getting ready for your baby means getting all of the fun little clothes, toys, and neat new baby gear. Here is a check list of things to consider before and after baby comes!

Baby's Name

Probably the most important and most exciting part of having a newborn baby is getting to pick out a name for your baby! Take your time. Use our baby names tips and resources to pick out the perfect name for your baby!

The Car Seat

If you are having your baby at a hospital or birthing center you will want to have a car seat, they won't let you leave without one.

Gift for Baby

You may want to have a gift for your new baby. Buying or making something for your baby is a special tradition, plus its lots of fun. It doesn't have to be big or expensive; it just needs to be from you! Don't forget dad! This is a special time for him as well.

Feeding

Nursing is the best way to feed your newborn baby. Nurse your baby for as long as you can. Why nurse? Your body naturally supplies the perfect combination of nutrients for your baby, your milk is always the perfect temperature, and it's always ready when baby is hungry. Nursing is a special time. Enjoy it for as long as possible.

There are times when nursing is not possible for one reason or another. What is a mom to do then? Breast pumps are a great way still give baby mothers milk or formula is the next choice. In today’s world, there are many different choices about bottles, formulas, and how and when to feed baby. Keep it simple. Diapering

Will you use cloth or disposable diapers. Today there are many new and great choices for diapering your baby. You do not have to be strictly one way or the other. Check out the new cloth diapers of today. It is handy to have a few on hand, even of you do not use them all of the time. Disposable or cloth, make sure you have a good supply. Tip from Experience: Start with one box of newborn diapers. You never know how fast your baby will grow.

Clothes

Baby's go through a lot of clothes. What do you really need for a newborn baby? Depending on the weather, onesies and spit-up cloths may be all you need at first.

Carrying Baby

Babies like to be carried. If you have one like mine it can seem excessive. Having a good carrier for you baby that doesn't put too much strain on your body is a necessity. Check out some of these ways to carry baby.
