It is a sad truth... We do not know much about our own physical anatomy. Our childbirth body is a mystery to us.

We've heard the terms (uterus, cervix, vagina...)and seen the little two-dimensional drawings in our text books, but really- is that enough? When it comes down to it, can you really picture in your mind how it all really works?

I know I struggled. The thought of a baby coming out of a very small, relatively unknown region of my body was beyond the abilities of my imagination- yet this is vital to feeling comfortable with childbirth. When things are foreign, we fear them. When we understand, we're OK, we become comfortable.

We need to understand some pretty intimate places of our body but we do not need graphic or intimate detail- No Thank-You! Not necessary! So how do we educate ourselves while maintaining the sacred nature of our bodied? Start by using this site.
