A Little About Me...

Hi, my name is Shantel.

I want to share with you a little secret...

One of my most favorite days in the whole world is the day I get to give birth!

Seriously- I'm not kidding and I'm not crazy either.

Now I know how crazy that sounds, and that's why I stopped telling people about. I got tired of that -"Are you nuts?"- look in their eyes. But I really can't blame them. Six years ago, I probably would been the same way- "Really? Are you kidding?"

But not anymore. Now I look forward to the day I get to give birth- and I want to share with you why. I hope that as I do, it will help you prepare for that most special day in your life as well. My goal is to help you experience birth: calmly, confidently, and completely.

Why Listen to me?
I've Done It Three Times
I have given birth naturally three times, and each time, it just gets better! I was very nervous about giving birth the first time. I did exactly what you are doing now- I studied like mad! My first birth was a good birth and I came away from the experience very satisfied.

The second time around I was more complacent about preparing for birth. I was not as excited this time. I kind of blocked it out and even ignored the fact that it was coming. I no longer had to imagine- I knew what it felt like- and I was not exactly thrilled to do it again. In the end I succeeded in giving birth naturally again. I did just fine, though not as well as I knew I could have.
Looking back- this experience taught me a lot (the hard way) about preparation- the "right kind" of preparation- the kind you must do to get the results you want and how to avoid the results you don't want. Overall, I still had a good experience and I came away loving childbirth more than ever!

It Begins...
This is when I began to study and learn about childbirth in full force. Writing, researching, and this website became my passion. Why?Because while giving birth had been a wonderful experience for me I knew so many others who had not had good experiences. The reasons are countless, but they all seemed to boil down to one major difference- and it is captured in this quotefrom Napoleon Hill "Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe it can achieve." Good and Bad.

It is as simple- and as difficult- as that. The concept is simple. The application is simple. You will get results- the question becomes what results are you really working toward?

This site is designed to help you answer that question so that no matter what kind of a birth you are looking for, you can achieve it.

I believe that everyone does their absolute best, with the knowledge and resources available to them, at any given time. That is why I believe every birth is wonderful, no matter how it is achieved. The end result is what we want, a healthy mother and baby. This site is designed to help you to that end. If I can help you make this experience better and more complete for youin any way then my goal has been met. This is your birth and your baby! Enjoy them! Each is a once in a lifetime experience.

What About My Own Results?
By the third time, the minute I got pregnant I was thrilled to know that I would be giving birth again! Do I still sound crazy?That's OK, that's what everyone else kept telling me too, but I was very confident and very excited. I wanted to try out everything that I had been learning with this birth. Guess what? I am happy to say that to date, my third birth has been the very best experience of all!
